Hi all, I am looking to up my self-tape set-up. Previously I used: iPhone, Pop Mic, Pop up Green Screen and natural window light. I've moved into a space with less natural light and more space and want to upgrade my set-up. I have a Sony camera + Rode VideoMic Pro Shotgun and enjoy that combo for now and am considering…

Casting Call Club is a Voice Acting site that offers free and paid jobs for voice actors, writers, music composers, video editors and some other roles. I will shorten the site to CCC. It has both free options and paid membership options in benefit tiers. The main focus of CCC is pop culture and anime voice acting. The…

Hello fellow voice actors! It's me, your very dumb and annoying colleague, who's not so bad but wants to be better. So here's the thing - I know how to act. At least at a basic, maybe intermidiate level. I got a good mic(not a yeti, but a samson) and a blanket (no booth sadly and not in the near future). I need to lear…

So I'm a Canadian actor and up here we usually just have an agent. I'm starting to look into representation in LA. I'm working on my 0-1 Visa, I have about 45 + credits and some amazing letters of recommendation/press so I'm not worried about that. The dumb question is: what is the difference between a manager and an a…

I wanna hear from people who actually have subscriptions/were previously subscribed. Have you ever gotten roles or do the apps seem like a scam? Majority of casting directors say you should never have to pay to auditions yet these apps ask for money

Director here — I keep getting passes on my script from actors. While a bit different, how do you as actors not get discouraged when directors pass on your auditions?

I’m a new actor in Los Angeles but only have extra and student film experience. I was working on getting a demo reel but am in a tough financial situation and tired of struggling. I also have been in LA for 7 years (starting acting last year) and have no real friends here; I’m very lonely and depressed. Because of all…

Where would marvel or other big studios post public casting calls like that? She just was forwarded a link. She wasn’t even planning on being an actress so obviously she wasn’t on a paid app and it’s her only acting credit so I believe her story of being sent a public casting link. But WHERE would they post that lol

Hey All! I would appreciate some perspective on a big decision I've been unsure about. I'm an actor based in Los Angeles. Recently I was accepted into LAMDA's MFA in Professional Acting in London, a two-year program. It's a great school with a great reputation--but I'm having trouble deciding if I should go. I've only…

If I've been fortunate enough to have a well established actor offer to refer me to their reps - how do I not fuck it up? They asked for my materials and said they'd send it over to their people. Should I reach out to said people? Or do nothing and wait for them to reach out to me? What sort of timeline should I give/e…

Basically the title. I know reality tv is usually frowned upon if you want to be taken seriously as an actor, but because Squid Game was so well received and popular, could this be a good opportunity? So, im trying to do a "girl" voice. I have heard that the easiest way is too do an impression of a certain Female Actor, VA or youtuber, and then later change the pitch and speech pattern around to fit you more. (F22) I just joined an on-camera acting class that helps build your reel by filming the scenes you do. However, I’m being given scenes to perform that are far from my typecast, aka I would NEVER be cast for those roles. How do other trans actors deal with a resume possibly being reflective of roles of your gender pre-transition?
